Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff and Taos Ski Valley in northern New Mexico are a long way apart, so treat them as separate trips. Start with the mountain and dates, then look for riders who are already planning the same journey.

## Make a meetup that fits the journey

For Snowbowl, decide whether you are meeting in Flagstaff or at the mountain. Many Taos visitors stay for more than a day, so say whether you want a single meetup or company for the trip. Compare terrain and pace first; a relaxed groomer day and advanced terrain are different plans.

Use [ski club and community resources](https://skibudsapp.com/resources) to look for existing groups. Our [riding buddy meetup checklist](https://skibudsapp.com/guides/ski-buddy-meetup-checklist) helps you agree on terrain, pace, and a first meeting.

## Read the mountain forecast before confirming

Use the forecast for the resort itself: an outlook for Phoenix, Albuquerque, or Santa Fe says little about the mountain. Read snowfall timing with temperature and wind, compare the resort's report, then check NMRoads or AZ 511 for the drive.
