Plan a ski carpool with your riding crew

A ski carpool starts with a shared destination and a schedule everyone can keep. Whether you are heading out for a single day or meeting friends for a weekend, agree on the drive before agreeing on the first chair.

SkiBuds is being rebuilt with city and mountain conversations, rider discovery, and private and group messages. Those tools give people a place to discuss a shared trip to the mountain. The carpool plan is arranged between riders in chat; it is not a seat-booking service or a paid ride marketplace.

Find people with the same mountain plan

Start with the date, resort, and general area you are leaving from. A useful carpool request explains whether you can drive or need a seat, your approximate departure time, and when you want to head home.

If you also want to ride together, include your ability and terrain preferences. People who can share a drive may still want different days on the slopes. You can find ski buddies or snowboard partners and settle those expectations before the trip.

Agree on the details before departure

• Pickup: choose a public meeting point and confirm the time and contact method.
• Gear space: count skis, boards, boots, and bags as well as people. Confirm the driver can carry everyone's equipment.
• Shared costs: agree on fuel, parking, tolls, and how any contributions will be handled before the drive.
• Return: choose a departure time from the mountain and a plan if someone finishes early.
• Changes: decide when you will check the forecast again and how you will communicate a delay or cancellation.

Meet new people in a public place and use your judgment about joining a shared ride. An app profile does not establish someone's driving ability, vehicle suitability, or identity verification.

Put the forecast in the conversation

An overnight storm can change the plan you made earlier in the week. Look at snowfall timing and wind alongside official road information and the resort's current operating updates. Confirm that everyone has seen the same plan before leaving.

Once your crew agrees on a carpool, keep the destination, meeting point, return time, and updates in a group chat. That makes it easier for everyone to check the plan without repeating it across separate conversations.
