People and mountain planning

Find ski buddies and snowboard friends in Ontario and Quebec

Blue Mountain near Collingwood and Mont Tremblant in the Laurentians are far apart, so treat them as separate plans. A Toronto group heading to Blue and a Montreal group heading to Tremblant rarely share a journey; start with the mountain and dates.

Make a meetup that fits the journey

Decide whether you want a day trip or company for a weekend, and keep riding, lodging, and transport as separate decisions. At either resort, suggest a public base or village meeting point. Compare terrain and pace first, and agree on warm-up breaks before a cold day.

Use ski club and community resources to look for existing groups. Our riding buddy meetup checklist helps you agree on terrain, pace, and a first meeting.

Read the mountain forecast before confirming

Cold, wind, and freeze-thaw cycles shape eastern Canadian conditions as much as new snow does. Compare the resort's own report with the forecast, then check Ontario 511 or Québec 511 for the highway before the group sets off.
