Terrain and ability at Crested Butte
First-timers can begin on the base carpets and progress toward Peachtree and easier Red Lady Express routes such as Houston. Silver Queen and the higher extreme zones require a different skill level. Do not make an expert itinerary the default for a group with new skiers.
Arrival, bases and lessons
Mountaineer Square is a resort-base transit hub, with Mountain Express connecting the town and mountain. Check the current route, lesson check-in and parking instructions. A town meeting point is not the same as being ready at the lift base.

Choose the resort base for the first gathering, then split by ability if needed. Name Red Lady or Silver Queen when describing the starting area. Reunite somewhere beginners can reach without taking an extreme-terrain detour or relying on a higher lift staying open.
