Cypress Mountain
Cypress Mountain has downhill skiing and snowboarding on Black Mountain and Mount Strachan, plus a separate Nordic area on Hollyburn Ridge. That distinction matters for a Vancouver winter outing: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and downhill lessons do not all start at the same place.

Terrain and ability at Cypress
The resort publishes downhill maps for both mountains and separate Nordic maps. Green Zones mark slow skiing and riding areas, where pace should match surrounding learners. Choose the day's open runs and an appropriate downhill lesson rather than assuming a Nordic trail leads to alpine lifts.
Arrival, bases and lessons
Cypress Bowl Road serves both activity areas, with the Nordic destination reached before the downhill area. Check current winter driving requirements and transport options. Cypress Creek Lodge is a downhill landmark; use the Nordic instructions for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
