Vail, Colorado
Vail Mountain Resort
Vail spreads from its Front Side above Vail Village and Lionshead into the Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin. The village you arrive in, the terrain you want to ride and your lesson location are separate planning decisions.
- Front Side, Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin
- Golden Peak Gopher Hill learning area
- Golden Peak and Lionshead lesson bases
Terrain and ability at Vail
Golden Peak's Gopher Hill learning area provides a starting point before longer mountain runs. Mid-Vail has beginner and intermediate terrain, while the bowls and Blue Sky Basin call for a different discussion about conditions, navigation and everyone's comfort on ungroomed snow.
Arrival, bases and lessons
Adult group lessons currently meet at Golden Peak between Chairs 12 and 6, or in Lionshead across from Gondola 19. Children have separate check-in centers. Follow the location on your booking confirmation before choosing parking or collecting rentals.
Plan a Vail meetup
Name Golden Peak, Lionshead or Vail Village in your plan, then choose a public landmark within that base. If part of the group heads to the Back Bowls, agree on a Front Side lunch or return point before separating; do not make new arrivals chase an on-mountain meeting.
Use the meetup message planner to agree on your date, terrain, pace and meeting point.
