Winter Park, Colorado

Winter Park Resort

Winter Park combines its village-side ski terrain with Mary Jane and several higher mountain areas. Mary Jane's moguls and the learning zones at Winter Park serve different ambitions, so mixed groups should choose their starting base and first runs deliberately.

  • Winter Park village and Mary Jane bases
  • Discovery Park learning terrain
  • Sorensen Park requires lesson access

Terrain and ability at Winter Park

Discovery Park provides a learn-to-ski-and-ride zone, while Sorensen Park requires a lesson for access. Mary Jane and the resort's steeper alpine terrain offer a different day from a beginner session. Use the current trail map to agree on progression rather than following the strongest rider everywhere.

Arrival, bases and lessons

Adult group lessons currently meet on snow outside West Portal near Arrow Lift; children's groups meet by Sorensen Park and Gemini. Ticket kiosks exist at both the Winter Park and Mary Jane bases. Follow your specific lesson confirmation before selecting a parking lot or rental pickup.

Plan a Winter Park meetup

A learning group can choose a public Winter Park village landmark near West Portal, then set a lunch regroup for friends riding Mary Jane. If arriving on the Winter Park Express, agree on a return plan and the current train schedule before splitting across the resort.

Use the meetup message planner to agree on your date, terrain, pace and meeting point.
