SkiBuds Launch Update: Fall 2026
SkiBuds
SkiBuds is being rebuilt for iOS and Android, and the new app is coming soon. We have not announced a release date; the launch status on the home page will change when the app is in the stores.
New on the website this fall
While the app is rebuilt, the website now covers the planning that happens before the first chair:
- A guide for every supported mountain. All 115 resort guides were reviewed on October 1, 2026. Each covers terrain by ability, arrival and lesson bases, meetup planning and a snow forecast, and links to the official resort sources it was checked against: 313 in total.
- A free meetup planner. The meetup message planner turns a date, mountain, terrain, pace and meeting point into a message you can send to a group.
- Region guides. Colorado, Utah, California, Oregon, Vermont and British Columbia each get a guide to planning a shared day, reading the forecast and checking the roads.
- A glossary. Ski and snowboard terms defines 32 words for friends, terrain and snow, from riding pace to snow water equivalent.
What the app is working toward
The rebuilt app brings mountain weather, rider discovery, maps, messaging and GPS run tracking together: start with the forecast, find people who share your riding style, and save a recap of your day. The features page describes the current direction. Features from the original 2021 app, such as lift-status notifications, are not part of these plans.
Plan this season now
Start with how to find ski buddies or how to find snowboard friends, read how to read a ski resort snow forecast, and check the FAQ. Follow SkiBuds on Instagram for launch news. Clubs, resorts and publishers can get in touch.
