Central Oregon, near Bend

Mt. Bachelor

Mt. Bachelor has several winter arrival areas, so a Bend ski trip works better when everyone agrees on a base before driving up. West Village, Sunrise and Skyliner are distinct parking destinations, and beginner ticket access differs from an all-mountain ticket.

  • West Village, Sunrise and Skyliner arrival areas
  • Ticket required for the free beginner zone
  • Learning tickets have specific lift limits

Terrain and ability at Mt. Bachelor

The free beginner zone at Sunrise includes the Lava Tube carpet and Woodward Start Park, but still requires the resort's access ticket and RFID card. Learning Progression tickets cover selected learning lifts; they do not allow skiing between West Village and Sunrise.

Arrival, bases and lessons

Match parking and rentals to the lesson location. Ticket kiosks are available at Mountain Gateway in West Village and at Sunrise Lodge. Check current parking and shuttle information, particularly if different friends are starting at different bases.

Plan a meetup at Mt. Bachelor

Put West Village or Sunrise in the invitation, along with a lodge landmark. If beginners hold limited-access tickets, plan to regroup at their base; use an operating interlodge shuttle when needed instead of assuming everyone can ski across the mountain.

Use the meetup message planner to agree on your date, terrain, pace and meeting point.
